Philosophy
Elam & Burke offers a full array of legal services on a regional basis. Our commitment to high quality
and service dates to the founding of the firm in 1928.
We are convinced that successful legal counseling must rest upon a comfortable personal and philosophical
relationship between the client and the law firm. To that end, we try to develop a strong and lasting
relationship with each of our clients. We believe that it is important for you to know our law firm and
the philosophy which we employ in providing legal services.
We recognize that different legal matters involve different economic realities. Our purpose is to provide
the resources of a large legal practice on a regional basis. Many clients have need of a larger firm only
occasionally. We are prepared to work closely with regular counsel when the need arises and to provide the
same high quality legal services to which the client is accustomed.
Our ability to provide broadly based legal services rests upon two cornerstones. The first is an
incomparable regional litigation capability. Our experience in litigation allows us to see and avoid
the mistakes which have caused trouble for others in the past; moreover, we approach each problem with
the confidence that should all else fail, we are prepared to protect our clients in court. The second is
an experienced commercial and business practice. We are cognizant of the problems and needs of business people,
