Mr. Magel began law practice in 1967. He was a Deputy Idaho Attorney General assigned to environmental affairs and various state agencies. He joined the firm in 1972. He is approved as a mediator by the United States District Court for the District of Idaho and the Idaho Supreme Court. Mr. Magel has mediated more than 650 disputes. Mr. Magel's litigation experience includes professional liability (medical, hospital, legal, accounting), commercial, products, real estate, insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes; environmental, including CERCLA and toxic and radioactive waste disposal; ski resorts; agriculture; probate and other.

Mr. Magel is a native of Idaho. He served as a smoke jumper with the United States Forest Service, 1958-1962; and with the United States Army, 1964-1969. His principal outside interests are his family, skiing, and travel.
